Hepworth Take Saddleworth Whit Friday Title
The Hepworth band, directed by Brian Grant took the overall title at this years Saddleworth Whit Friday Marches as a total of 135 bands from as far afield as Switzerland, Austria, Norway and Guernsey joined bands from across the Country to compete at venues around the Saddleworth district.
Playing "The Wizard"the band competed at 9 venues, taking first prize at Lees & Springhead, Greenacres and Denshaw, second prize at Dobcross, Greenfield, Delph and Lydgate, third at Scouthead and fourth at Uppermill.
It was a level of consistency that gave the band the overall title ahead of Brighouse & Rastrick who finished as runners up with Rothwell Temperance third.
