With a little help from our friends..
Hepworth band is at the heart of a small village community in the Holme Valley, West Yorkshire and for 140 years has been a constant and intrinsic part of the area’s culture and tradition.
We’re proud of our relationship with the local community and play an active role in the traditional Hepworth Feast celebrations, the Service of Remembrance, performing concerts locally, taking part in fundraising concerts for charities and keeping alive the tradition of carolling around the local villages over the Christmas period.

It has taken a lot of hard work over the band’s 140-year history to achieve this and like many organisations, we rely on income from engagements, fundraising events, grants and the help of our supporters and local businesses to balance the books.
We’ve recently launched the ‘Friends of Hepworth Band’ and set ourselves a target of making 100 new friends to help support us.

For a small registered charity like ours, raising funds has been difficult over the last few years. We’ve still managed to achieve a lot though, having recently completed a major refurbishment of the bandroom, delivered a successful programme of concerts as part of our ‘Music in the Holme Valley’ series and presented a series of free online concerts across our social media platforms.
