The Band once again visits Wakefield to play alongside Wakefield Grammar School Foundation and soloists in their annual concert.


The Grand Shield Qualifying Contest for the British Open

Hepworth join 19 other top bands at the Winter Gardens to try and gain a coveted place in the British Open Championships next September in Symphony Hall, Birmingham.

The Saddleworth Whit Friday March Contests
Saddleworth, Friday, May 25, 5.00pm till late.
The Whit Friday contests are often described as “The greatest free show on Earth”. Hepworth will be marching and playing in the villages round Saddleworth along with bands from all over Europe, and possibly further afield.
Admission: Usually free; there may be a collection, depending on the venue.


Hepworth Feast
Hepworth, near Holmfirth, Monday, June 25, 2.00pm and 6.30pm.
The Band leads the traditional circular walk from Hepworth School through the villages of Scholes and Jackson Bridge, with stops for hymn singing on the way. More hymns in the evening when the Band leads the united sing in the centre of the village.


Brighouse March & Hymn Tune Contest

About 20 bands from Youth to Championship sections compete in the march and hymn tune contest organised by Brighouse Lions International.
Durham Miners’ Gala
Durham City, Saturday, July 7, All Day.
Hepworth Band will be marching to the Big Meeting representing New Herrington Colliery, near Houghton-le-Spring. The Gala, first held in 1871, is the largest unofficial miners’ and trade union gathering in the United Kingdom.
